About Me:
I prefer a medium-sized school, maybe around 15,000 students total. Of course I plan to have a great time in college, however, I don't want to feel the pressure of having to pledge for a sorority. I am an outgoing person by nature, but I want to maintain a good balance of social and academic life once I get to college, with grades taking top priority. I'd also like a school that offers a lot of different volunteer opportunities, as well as an active debate team and other extracurricular activities. I plan to go to law school in the long term, and therefore want to create an impressive resume during my college years.
Interests
For Fun: I want to go to a school that offers a wide choice of activities and a downtown area where I can escape campus life and blend into the crowd. I enjoy reading in a local coffee shop and hearing live music on weekends. But I like outdoor activities as well, such as hiking and mountain biking.
Possible Majors: I want to go to law school after college, so I think a political science major in undergrad may be my best bet. However, because there is no specific major requirement for law school and because I am considering choosing a minor that make my resume more diverse, I want to attend a college that offers a large selection of majors and minors.
About My Family: My mother went to a community college and University of Minnesota for her undergraduate degree and continued at University of Minnesota for her graduate degree and is now working as family counselor. My father went to UCLA and is currently a mechanical engineer at a small company here in North Carolina.
Living Arrangements: I want to live in a dorm and experience the college life of having roommates. I don't need to live in the fanciest dorm on earth (although it would be nice to see which schools have the nicest dorms…and if they just happen to fall into my list of potential schools).
