You've probably been using many factors in your search for the right school—factors like cost, size, setting, and academic focus. A school's social conscience is one more important factor. Colleges with a Conscience will help you find a school that won't force you to choose between your desire to make the world a better place and your desire to succeed in college.

Your time at college can be civically isolating, without much interaction with the surrounding community or pressing global, national, or local issues, but it doesn't have to be that way. Colleges with a Conscience will help pop the bubble of isolation and connect you with the issues you care about.

We're also hoping to applaud the good work being done by colleges and give visibility to their civic efforts—public work that's often invisible to people outside of higher education. We hope Colleges with a Conscience gives more people on campus the space and opportunities to put their public missions into practice.
