Relax! You've got plenty of time before you have to focus too much on the SAT. Freshman year should be about focusing on your studies, building your GPA, and figuring out what activities you like. You should start thinking about the PSAT. More for freshmen
You've got some time before you have to get into intense SAT prep. Continue to focus on challenging classes, and consider taking SAT Subject Tests that correspond with your AP subjects. Also, think about SAT preparation, and a practice SAT (it's free, online, and no-risk!). More for sophomores
We recommend SAT prep in the fall, winter, or spring, depending on what works best with your school schedule. If you take the SAT early in your Junior year, you’ll give yourself plenty of time for a second try, as well as for SAT Subject Tests. Also, you can take advantage of the refresher course included in your enrollment!* More for juniors
Fall of Senior year should be your last SAT - we recommend preparing over the summer. Throughout the year, keep working. Don't lose sight of the bigger picture: You need to complete scholarship applications, excel on APs, talk financial shop with your parents and follow up with your teachers about recommendations. More for seniors
