Academy of Art University offers A.A., B.A., B.F.A., B.Arch, M.A., M.F.A., and M.Arch degrees and certificates in 26 programs including: Acting, Advertising, Animation & Visual Effects, Architecture, Art Education, Art History, Art Teaching Credential, Fashion, Fashion Journalism, Fashion Styling, Fine Art, Game Design, Graphic Design, Illustration, Industrial Design, Interior Architecture & Design, Jewelry & Metal Arts, Landscape Architecture, Motion Pictures & Television, Multimedia Communications, Music Production & Sound Design for Digital Media, Photography, Studio Production for Advertising & New Media, Visual Development, Web Design & New Media, and Writing for Television, Film & New Media. Continuing Art Education and Certificate programs are also available for those wishing to tailor a program to meet their specific goals. Classes can be taken in San Francisco or online.

Every year, the Academy goes above and beyond to connect students with industry giants in their fields. Industry leaders are flown in to view student work during the school's annual Spring Show. Twice a year, School of Fashion students showcase collections at the Mercedes-Benz fashion shows in New York. Academy of Art is the only school invited to this prestigious event. Advertising students win record-breaking numbers of awards including ADDYs, ANDYs and Clios, catching the attention of top firms. Alumni go on to do great things.

Academy students have the advantage of a curriculum that offers an unprecedented 26 different programs, a faculty of practicing professional artists and designers who bring their industry success into the classroom, and state-of-the-art facilities.

Tuition is structured to give students the best value and most flexibility during their academic studies. Tuition is calculated on a per unit basis, and lab fees and course fees are assessed per individual class.

Undergraduate Tuition rate is $810 per unit (3 units per class).
Graduate and Art Teaching Credential Tuition rate is $910 per unit (3 units per class).

For example, starting in the Fall of 2014, a typical undergraduate tuition for an academic year would be $810 for each unit, over 24 units, which is a total yearly tuition of $19,440.

From The School

Academy of Art University hosts over 28 official student chartered clubs, cultural organizations, and intramural club sports. It is one of the few art and design schools that believe in nurturing the whole artist; this includes developing athletic talents along with artistic ones. With over 16 NCAA Division II sports teams competing in the Pacific West Conference, the University is one of the few art schools in the U.S. that boasts a competitive athletics program. The Urban Knights won the national championship in women's outdoor track & field in its first season of competition. The school boasts a large number of military veteran scholars and an active international student population.
