"The international slant of the London Business School is its greatest strength," students agree, pointing to both the international focus of the curriculum and the school's location in "the most important financial and business centre of Europe." One MBA explains, "Everything that is done by the school—from creating the study-group teams to the content of the case studies in class—is centered around promoting internationalism. It is very impressive." The school's rare language requirement—students must be proficient in English and a second language (French, Spanish, German, Japanese, or Mandarin) demonstrates the prominence of international business.

LBS's 14-course first-year core is divided into three terms, throughout which "the integration of the different topics is very strong, helping one grasp the big picture quickly and efficiently prepare for the electives." Students caution that "the first-term workload is extremely heavy, but the second term is lighter, which lets time for the milk round." (Note: "Milk round" is a British term for "making the rounds," and usually refers to company-recruiting visits to university campuses.) Students especially appreciate how "the entire stream sits down to give feedback on each of the core classes at the end of the first year, and our comments are immediately fed back to the professors for improvement and/or encouragement. Unpopular electives are either drastically altered or discontinued."

Second year at LBS is a "year of choice," offering seven possible areas of concentration. Students identify strategy, entrepreneurship, and finance as the strongest areas; "London has a great position in the finance centre of Europe. There is no doubt it has deep and strong links with the finance industry with practically every investment bank I have ever heard of presenting at campus," noted one student. Electives in marketing, technology, and decision sciences also earn students' praise. Overall, students describe the LBS curriculum as "balanced, with lots of practical courses and interactions with the outside/real world." They praise the program's shadowing project (in which student's trail a manager for up to five days, then report on the experience) and the capstone second-year consulting project.

LBS faculty "deal daily with today's business issues either through their research or their consulting assignments. It is absolutely fantastic to see them bring that experience to class every week. Moreover, professors recognize they have a class full of bright and intelligent people in front of them and therefore engage them in the discussion and exploration of the latest business thinking. You do not have the feeling that you are back at high school where the teacher reads out what you should know." MBAs point out that profs "have to be good teachers to stay at London Business School. They're rigorously critiqued by students and administration."
