How do I apply for the MBA in Entrepreneurship program?

California State University San Bernardino operates on a quarter system with three quarters per year. Continuing students may attend our summer quarter. The winter quarter begins in January, the spring quarter begins in April and the fall quarter begins in September. The College of Business and Public Administration admits students for all three quarters. Admission is highly competitive so early submission of your application is recommended.

Application deadlines:

Students should submit applications no later than September 6 for fall, December 1 for winter and March 1 for spring. The Admissions Office continues to accept and review applications until enrollment goals have been met. Please be advised that due to enrollment pressures, we anticipate closing many admission categories quickly. Apply early!


The GMAT exam is required for all applicants and should be taken before filing an application. Submit an unofficial copy of the GMAT with the admissions packet and have the original sent directly from ETS. Test scores may not be more than 5 years old at the time of submission of application. The ETS institution code for CSUSB is 4099. More information regarding the GMAT is available by calling 1-800-GMAT-NOW or online at http://www.gmat.org. To be accepted, applicants must meet a 1050 index as follows:

(GPA x 200) + GMAT >= 1050 with a minimum GMAT of 470 and minimum GPA of 2.5.

GPA is based on the last 90 quarter (or 60 semester) units and may include post-baccalauriate work.

Conditional Acceptance

If an applicant has a GPA of at least a 3.0 (last 90 quarter units or last 60 semester units) and has at least 6 prerequisites to complete they maybe accepted into the MBA program on a conditional basis. However the student cannot attend 500 or 600-level MBA courses (except 503 courses) without first submitting a passing GMAT score.


Students who received a bachelor's degree in a language other than English must take the TOEFL. Submit an unofficial copy of the TOEFL with the admissions packet and have the original sent directly from ETS. A minimum score of 213 on computer-adaptive exams or 550 paper-based exams or 79 or higher on the new internet based exam is required. Test scores may not be more than two years old at the time of submission of application. Letters of Recommendation, Resumes, and Personal Statements

Although not required, letters of recommendation from professional references can enhance an application. Letters of recommendation from employers or professional colleagues are preferred and should be sent directly from the recommender. Please do not submit more than three letters. Resumes and personal statements may also be submitted to support an application. There is not a preferred format for supplemental documents. All supplemental documents should be submitted with your application. Statement of Academic Motivation and Personal Qualifications

This statement should be on a separate sheet of paper and approximately 250 words in length. It should state the reasons for pursuing a Master’s degree in Business Administration and choosing this University. It may comment on any special honors or accomplishments you have achieved. (Resume and two letters of recommendation are optional, but highly desirable).

Admissions to the M.B.A. Program is a two-step process.

Step 1: Apply to the University.

Applicants for the M.B.A. program must first qualify for admission to the University by meeting the following requirements:

1. Have completed a four-year college course of study and earned an acceptable baccalaureate degree at an institution accredited by a regional accrediting association or have completed equivalent academic preparation.

2. Have attained a grade-point average of at least 2.5 in the last 60 semester units (90 quarter units) attempted and

3. Have been in good standing at the last college attended.

Domestic students need to submit a California State University application for Post baccalaureate and Graduate Education along with the graduate application fee of $55 online at http://www.csumentor.edu. Your application will not be processed without the fee.

International applicants must download the application from http://www.csumentor.edu and submit a paper application to the Graduate Admission office. The $55 fee may be paid by a check from a United States bank made payable to the California State University.
