All freshmen are required to take "Journeys", a course that is global in its perspective and interdisciplinary in its approach, and to take "Explorations", a course designed to foster an ongoing engagement with the liberal arts experience. Starting from 2005, all freshmen are required to participate in the academic program entitled "Your Hendrix Odyssey: Engaging in Active Learning" designed to encourage students to embark on educational adventures in experiential learning. Graduation requirements inlcude the completion of an approved activity in at least three of the following categories: Artistic Creativity, Global Awareness, Professional and Leadership Development, Service to the World, Undergraduate Research, and Special Projects.
