The Millsaps FAITH & WORK INITIATIVE offers an array of curricular and extracurricular programs to help students discern their vocation or call in life and to pursue it with passion, integrity and an eye toward the needs of the world. Faith & Work options include service-learning courses and the Meaning of Work course, immersion and service experiences, discussion programs with faculty and professionals, leadership and service clubs, internships, and public lecture series. UNDERGRADUATE RESEARCH is available in most academic departments, including field research opportunities in the Pacific Northwest, Yellowstone, the Mexico, and Europe. Millsaps' biocultural reserve on 4500 acres in the Yucatan Peninsula of Mexico offers multi-disciplinary options for study, including archaeology, business, ecology, education, geology, history, literature, math and socio-cultural anthropology. Students may also choose among other STUDY ABROAD programs developed by Millsaps faculty--in Albania, Cambodia, China, Costa Rica, England, France, the Galapagos Islands, Germany, Ghana, Greece, Israel, Italy, Japan, Scotland, Mexico (Yucatan), Tanzania and Viet Nam. DIRECT EXCHANGE programs offered in Albania, Japan, Ireland and Liechtenstein. PRE-PROFESSIONAL programs include dentistry, engineering, law, medicine, ministry, and social work. Millsaps students may work towards DUAL DEGREES in engineering, applied science or nursing through agreements with Auburn University, Columbia University, Vanderbilt University, Washington University, and the University of Mississippi Medical Health Center. FORD TEACHING FELLOWS program (research and internships for students interested in college teaching), and the Weiner PRE-MEDICAL FELLOWS program (summer research).
