Founded in 1960, Grand Valley State University is a public institution devoted to providing students with the highest quality undergraduate and graduate education. The main campus in Allendale, Michigan is located approximately 15 miles east of Lake Michigan and 12 miles west of Grand Rapids, the location of Grand Valley's Robert C. Pew Campus. We offer more than 200 areas of study, including 69 undergraduate majors and 26 graduate programs. Grand Valley is dedicated to building a liberal education for each student emphasizing critical thinking, creative problem solving, and cultural understanding. Students benefit from small class sizes (average 27 students), and personalized instruction from first-rate faculty who are dedicated to teaching. Students collaborate with professors on advanced research projects, gaining knowledge and skills more commonly associated with graduate-level study. Grand Valley has been named one of the "100 Best College Buys in the United States" for 12 consecutive years. With enrollment of more than 23,000 students, Grand Valley has campuses in Allendale, Grand Rapids, and Holland, and centers in Muskegon and Traverse City.
