LGBT Support Groups: Campus Pride: https://www.westfield.ma.edu/offices/campus-pride-committee The mission of the Campus Pride Committee at Westfield State University is to improve visibility and support for LGBTQIA students and employees by identifying and training a network of allies who are sensitive and affirmative to the needs of the LGBTQIA community. Through education and programming, advocacy, and awareness, these allies will be empowered to speak out against homophobia and transphobia, confront heterosexist assumptions, and promote a safe and supportive environment for all members of the university community. We seek to improve WSU?s climate by inspiring a vision of diversity that is aware of, engaged in, and appreciative of the issues related to sexual orientation and gender identity and expression. Queer Straight Alliance (QSA): https://westfield.presence.io/organization/queer-straight-alliance The primary purpose of the Westfield State University Queer Straight Alliance is to educate the club and the campus community about gay, lesbian, bisexual, and transgender issues. The club will take an active role in providing its members and the campus with educational information and activities pertaining to sexual orientation, transgender and all gender variant identities and diversity.

Minority Support Groups: Black Student Union https://westfield.presence.io/organization/black-student-union The Black Student Union is a place that connects all parts of the Black diaspora here at Westfield State University. Black Student Union creates a welcoming environment for black students and allies to gather and create community. Our goal is to celebrate many parts of Black culture and present Black culture to the Westfield State University campus community. Asian and Pacific Islander Student Union (APISU) https://westfield.presence.io/organization/asian-and-pacific-islander-student-union-apisu This club is to recognize the Asian and Pacific Islander population here on campus. This club is open to all Asians, Asian-American, and allies of our people. We serve to educate and progress the mindset of those who may not know much about our culture. We are filling in the blanks to all the questions our people may have. This is a safe space for students who identify with Asian heritage in their blood and our non-Asian allies. Seeing this representation in media and on campus will further unite us together. We have fun conversations about our culture, how we grew up, and just connect through shared experiences. Division of Justice, Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion (J.E.D.I.) https://westfield.presence.io/organization/division-of-justice-equity-diversity-and-inclusion-j-e-d-i The Division of Justice, Equity, Diversity, & Inclusion (JEDI) sustains and carries out Westfield State University?s commitment to diversity by supporting student programs, faculty initiatives, and curricular innovations that cultivate a vibrant and multifaceted inclusive community. The division offers programming that may include educational workshops, performances, social events with a focus on, building relationships, understanding the various perspectives of others, embracing different cultures, and issues designed to address the whole campus. Diversity in Health Care Club https://westfield.presence.io/organization/diversity-in-health-care-club Diversity in Healthcare Club is a student led organization at Westfield State University that provides a space for students with different ethnicities and cultures to have the ability to network with various backgrounds to create an inclusive foundation for future healthcare ventures through open discussions, mentorships, guest speakers. It also helps create opportunities to enhance resumes, and learn more about healthcare. Hispanic Studies Program https://westfield.presence.io/organization/hispanic-studies-program The Hispanic Studies program will help students to gain a practical and working knowledge of the Spanish-language as well as cultural competency in a variety of Spanish-speaking cultures. Lower-level courses focus on proficiency in understanding, speaking, reading and writing, as well as on expanding your knowledge of the target cultures. Upper-level courses encourage students to connect with other cultures and histories and to make comparisons with their own experiences. Most importantly, we focus on student success by providing equity-based education in all of our classes. Being part of this diverse and vibrant community helps students increase their cultural and language competency while building strong and meaningful connections. Apart from the flexibility in terms of what you can study, the most obvious benefit is the acquisition and/or advanced practice of a second language. Spanish is one of the top 5 languages spoken worldwide and the US is the second largest Spanish-speaking country in the world. How can you set yourself apart from your peers after graduation? Jewish Student Organization (JSO) https://westfield.presence.io/organization/jewish-student-organization-jso The Jewish Student Organization (JSO) is dedicated to the study and observation of Judaism. All are welcome in this organization to participate and/or learn about Judaism as a religion and culture. Latinx Association for Empowerment (L.A.f.E) https://westfield.presence.io/organization/latinx-association-for-empowerment-l-a-f-e LAfE is an educational, political, and social organization of students at Westfield State University established to create awareness of multicultural issues on campus. In addition, it provides support for students in academics and all facets of campus life as well as a social meeting place for the purpose of exploring cultural issues. LAfE seeks to celebrate diversity within our University through multiple avenues alongside, making a safe, healthy, and welcoming space for all of us. Muslim Student Organization (MSO) https://westfield.presence.io/organization/muslim-student-organization-mso Building a vibrant community that serves the needs of Muslims students, staffs, and faculty members on campus and promotes a greater understanding of Islamic teaching through lectures, events, and dialogs.
