Minority Support Groups
Martin Luther King Student Union—This group focuses on celebration and education of the diverse cultures of Stephens College. Through programming all-campus events, workshops and community involvement, they provide support for women of color at Stephens and within our diverse community. In addition, they raise money to provide annual scholarships for outstanding women of color at Stephens.
Beautiful - Our mission is to create bonds of women of the African Diaspora on the campus of Stephens College in order to unify the Black Community at Stephens. We hope to create a voice for the Black community and to act as a liaison between us and the administration. Furthermore, we hope to educate our community about the importance of addressing issues of social, politically and economic realms. And most importantly, we hope to build a concept of Self among Black women by nurturing each women’s identity and promoting the concept of knowing and loving one’s self.
