Transportation
Types of Transportation Available to Campus:
There are airports in Ithaca (Tompkins-Cortland Regional), Syracuse (Hancock Field), and Rochester (Rochester International). Flights on US Air arrive in Ithaca from major cities of the northeast. Both Syracuse and Rocheser, each approximately one hour from campus, are served by the nation's major airlines and have direct flights and connections everwhere in the United States and abroad. Through the Admissions Office, visitors to Wells can arrange for transportation to campus from any of these airports (there is a fee for this service). Visitors traveling by train will arrive in Syracuse. Visitors traveling by bus will arrive in Ithaca. The college van can be scheduled to pick up and bring visitors to campus (there is a fee for this service).
 
Driving Instructions to Campus:
Aurora is located on the eastern shore of Cayuga Lake in Central New York. The New York State Thruway (Interstate Route 90) is twenty five miles to the north. Route 17 (the Southern Tier Expressway and the future I-86) is approximately fifty miles to the south. From New York City and Long Island: Follow I-87 north to Route 17 at exit 16 in Harriman. Take 17 west to I-81 north in Binghamton. Take I-81 to Homer exit (#12); make a right at the end of the exit ramp onto Route 281 north; a left onto Route 90 (very soon after turning onto Route 281); take local Route 90 to Aurora (approximately 40 miles). From the New York State Thruway and traveling West: Exit at Weedsport (#40); make a right onto Route 34 south to Auburn; make a right onto Routes 5 and 20 west and a left onto Route 326 to the village of Union Springs; turn left on local Route 90 to Aurora. From New Jersey: Follow I-80 west to I-380 west to Scranton, PA. Follow I-380 west to I-81 north to Binghamton. Take I-81 to Homer exit (#12); make a right at the end of the exit ramp onto Route 281 north; a left onto Route 90 (very soon after turning onto Route 281); take local Route 90 to Aurora (approximately 40 miles). From Massachussetts and points in New England: Follow the Massachussetts Turnpike (I-90) west into New York State. Continue on I-90 (which turns into the New York State Thruway) in New York to exit 40 (Weedsport). Make a right onto Route 34 south to Auburn; make a righ onto Routes 5 and 20 west and a left onto Route 326 to the village of Union Springs; turn left on local Route 90 to Aurora. From Maryland/DC and southern states: Follow I-95 north to I-695 around Baltimore. Take I-83 north to Harrisburg, PA. In Harrisburg exit from I-83 to I-81 north. Take I-81 north to Homer, NY exit (#12); make a right at the end of the exit ramp onto Route 281 north, a left onto Route 90 (very soon after turning onto Route 281); take local Route 90 to Aurora *approxinmately 40 miles).
