Bangor International Airport is 10 miles from campus. Taxis and rental cars are available at the airport. Concord Trailways Bus also stops on campus on weekends during the academic year. The BAT bus provides free shuttle service to downtown Orono every half-hour and free bus service (with a MaineCard) to Bangor, Brewer, Old Town, Hampden and Orono.

About a mile from campus is the University Inn Academic Suites (5 College Ave., 800-321-4921), with an outdoor pool and restaurant. While downtown, visit Margarita's for a taste of the border just off Main Street. If Mexican doesn't sound just right, try the Bear Brew Pub, Thai Orchid or Pat's Pizza for some of the University's students' favorite foods. The Black Bear Inn (4 Godfrey Ave., 800-523-1234)is 2 1/2 miles from campus. It includes an exercise room and continental breakfast.
