Transportation
Types of Transportation Available to Campus:
Bangor International Airport is 10 miles from campus. Taxis and rental cars are available at the airport. Concord Trailways Bus also stops on campus on weekends during the academic year. The BAT bus provides free shuttle service to downtown Orono every half-hour and free bus service (with a MaineCard) to Bangor, Brewer, Old Town, Hampden and Orono.
 
Driving Instructions to Campus:
The university is located off Exit 191 or 193 from I-95. Follow the signs to campus.
 
Local Accommodations: Near By:
In Orono, the closest motel to campus is the University Inn Academic Suites (5 College Ave., 800.321.4921), with an outdoor pool and restaurant. It’s also close to Orono’s downtown, where you will find a variety of restaurants and can choose from American, Thai and Mexican cuisine, as well as several pizza places. The Black Bear Inn Conference Center and Suites (4 Godfrey Drive, 207.866.7120) is two miles from campus. It includes an exercise room and continental breakfast.

Five miles from campus, the city of Bangor has several low and moderately priced hotels and chains: Bangor Motor Inn, Hampton Inn, Fairfield Inn by Marriott, Hilton Garden Inn, Courtyard by Marriott, Bangor Ramada, Comfort Inn, Four Points by Sheraton, Days Inn, Howard Johnson Inn and others. For more atmosphere, the historic Charles Inn is located right in downtown Bangor.
