Appalachian State University

Tuition & Aid
Bottom line

Each year, Appalachian State awards thousands of leadership and merit-based scholarships from 150 different programs across campus. Totaling more than $2 million each year, these scholarship awards help Appalachian students offset tuition and fees. Top scholarships include the Chancellor’s Scholarship, a four-year scholarship covering full tuition and fees for the top 15 freshmen in the Heltzer Honors College; the W.H. Plemmons Leader Fellows Scholarship, a four-year scholarship for students with outstanding leadership experiences; the Diversity Scholarship, a four-year scholarship for students interested in promoting and enhancing diversity; and the ACCESS Scholarship, a four-year, full tuition and fees scholarship to help students with the highest financial need graduate debt-free. Additional support includes a textbook rental program, which saves students hundreds of dollars over the course of four years.
