Thomas Jefferson School of Law Students Say...

Students at Thomas Jefferson concur, "The location couldn't be more perfect than San Diego. Students at Thomas Jefferson concur, "The location couldn't be more perfect than San Diego. I love calling friends in law school on the East Coast in January and find them snowed in while I'm going surfing." Another raves, "Who can beat studying on the beach in the middle of winter?!" Students say, "It is easy to make friends because everyone is so outgoing, [and that] there is no shortage of formal and informal social activities, including parties, sporting events, volunteer work, forums, and club meetings and activities" One student even told us, "I had more fun in law school than I ever had in undergrad." Students also claim to be "active in the local community" and report that "there is a highly vocal liberal slant that predominates" within the student body.

Over 25 percent of JD students at Thomas Jefferson are enrolled in the four-year part-time program, taking some of their classes in the evening. Though the average age of entering students is 24, the part-timers tend to be "serious, mature guys and gals who have worked for years, usually still work, and often have families." There is hope for both sets of students to exist in harmony, though. Students say, "From the first day, the school has facilitated social interaction among students, including students of all ages and backgrounds." In addition, students say the school strives for unity, maintaining "an attitude suggesting we are all in this together working for common goals—to learn, do well academically, get experience, and help build our school's reputation."
