Computer Facilities / Resource Centers: The School of Medicine has a Histology/Pathology Lab featuring a laboratory ampitheatre which includes a state of the art teaching podium and document camera for projection of specimens and dual high lumen projectors. Stressing the teamwork evident in all aspects of the healthcare environment, students work in pairs at computer stations with flat panel monitors. The Himmelfarb Health Sciences Library has a computer lab and two computer classrooms dedicated to the needs of students at the George Washington University Medical Center. Students have access both on- and off-campus to MEDLINE and over 60 other health databases through MDConsult, over 200 electronic textbooks, and more than 2,300 health periodicals. In addition, the Bloedorn Technology Center in the Himmelfarb Library has a wide variety of computer-based instructional programs which supplement the School's curricular programs.

Campus Life
General Information: The Fall 2012 entering class hailed from 25 different states, spanning the United States from Oregon to Florida and matriculating from 79 different undergraduate institutions. Thirty-two percent of incoming students were non-science majors and twelve percent held various graduate degrees. Last year's entering class ranged in age from twenty to forty-seven years old.
Student Life: The GW campus is nestled in the Foggy Bottom area of Washington D.C. and is within walking distance of the White House and many other governmental, historical, and cultural landmarks. The campus is subway accessible; the Foggy Bottom/GWU metro stop sits immediately outside the School of Medicine. A state-of-the-art Health and Wellness Center, also two blocks from Ross Hall, is an 188,000 square foot facility that hosts a wide variety of fitness and instructional classes; walk-in recreation; and sport club, intramural, and wellness programs and services.
