Campus Life
General Information: The medical student body is a heterogenous group admitted through several routes. In 2012, the range of matriculants' ages was 20-32 years, resulting in an active enrollment with diverse life experiences. About 75% of medical students participate in a community-based activity before graduation, while more than 80% of the graduates collaborate on a research project with a faculty sponsor. The American Medical Student Association (AMSA) chapter has a long tradition of service and advocacy; three Brown students have been served as president of the national organization during the past 30 years.
Student Life: Medical students have full access to the school's recreational activities and facilities. Brown University has over 200 student clubs and organizations that unite students. Although most students choose to live off campus, residence halls and housing co-ops are available.
