The February 2008 LSAT

The February LSAT had a total of 101 scored questions—23 in Games, 25 in one Arguments section, 26 in the other Arguments section, and 27 in Reading Comprehension. Reports from February 2008 test takers indicate that the experimental section appeared in Section 1 or Section 3 on most test forms.

Below is the breakdown of how Princeton Review students rated individual sections in relation to the other recent LSATs. Princeton Review students felt very prepared for all three sections, especially the Games section. Many test takers found the Arguments and Reading Comprehension sections to be more difficult than those on other recent exams. They reported feeling constrained by time on the Arguments sections, and many cited a challenging Comparative Reading passage as the sources of difficulty on those sections.

Scored Games - 23 questions

The scored Games section had a two-dimensional, two-floor game about math and theater classes as the fourth game; many test takers found this game confusing. The other games were familiar variations on order and group games, including one about animals and one about professors and novelists lecturing. There were two different experimental Games sections reported in the February test.

Scored Arguments - 25 and 26 questions

The higher-than-usual number of Principle-Match and EXCEPT questions made one of the sections more difficult than the other. Otherwise, the Arguments sections were very similar to those on other recent tests.

Scored Reading Comprehension - 27 questions

The scored Reading Comprehension section contained a passage about the problems with landing on Mars, a comparative reading passage about the shortcomings of a truly democratic electoral system, a passage about Mark Bloch, and a passage on the Alaskan wildlife preserve. Students found the comparative reading passage particularly challenging.
