With nearly 25 years of teaching experience, I began my journey in 2001 as a private tutor for a small cohort of elementary learners—whom I proudly graduated with honors in 2014. As a certified K–6 reading specialist, I’m passionate about helping students demystify all aspects of language arts, whether that means crafting a creative paper, researching a biography, or diagramming sentences to master grammar. I also bring deep enthusiasm for history and civics to every lesson. From exploring the roots of our democracy to debating contemporary issues, I strive to spark engaging conversations that connect the past, present, and future. My goal is to inspire students not only to learn facts, but to see themselves as active, informed citizens. Leveraging my blend of classroom expertise, specialized endorsements and ongoing doctoral research in Educational Leadership, I’m committed to driving equitable literacy outcomes and fostering civic understanding across the curriculum. I Love Tutoring Because
it gives me the privilege of guiding each student at their own pace—witnessing the moment a challenging concept “clicks” and their confidence soars is incredibly rewarding. Tutoring lets me tailor lessons to individual learning styles, building not just skills but also a genuine enthusiasm for discovery. By creating a safe space for questions and mistakes, I foster resilience and curiosity, helping students realize that perseverance leads to growth. Ultimately, seeing students transform uncertainty into mastery—and knowing I played a part in their journey—reminds me daily why I chose education as my life’s work.
