Career Experience
I am a retired certified math and exceptional student education teacher who absolutely loves working one-to-one with students. I have taught middle school for over 30 years - specializing in math and reading from Kindergarten through 9th grades. Throughout my career in the public school system, I have taught in a diversity of classrooms: general education, inclusion and self-contained settings - working with students with differing learning styles and challenges. I believe students learn in unique ways and are capable of success when taught with methods that address their individual needs. My specialty is the use of state curricula to diagnose and identify areas of need and then build my lessons to strengthen the student’s skills and confidence. I am willing to try different strategies to help my students learn. If one way does not work, I will always try different ways until they understand.
I Love Tutoring Because
It allows me to work 1 to 1 with students, and I can see my students experience success with concepts that they felt they would never understand after only a few sessions of tutoring.
