Career Experience
I have taught mathematics at the college level for about fifteen years. I have also tutored mathematics at all levels for between fifteen and twenty years.
I Love Tutoring Because
tutoring allows a moment by moment, individual interaction in a way that teaching does not. Many students who think they can’t understand a topic, do understand it quite well after having their individual need addressed. The problem was that they were receiving an explanation from a teacher trying to read faces of a whole room and taking a best guess at what most students need. It is much nicer to know the exact need for sure, and then address it. It is also fun because it’s so individual that every session is different. This keeps it fresh and interesting even after tutoring the same section many times.
