Fresh out of graduate school, I began working for a private equity cable TV LP, where I stayed for 24 years. I started out as business manager of a LP in old-school cable TV, and this morphed (through many hand changes) to head of divisional financial operation for a tele-com LLC. For many of those years, the change in services/products, company structure were very fast-paced. The technology behind our services/products grew rapidly, as did capital investments and financial operations. From many perspectives, financial forecasting felt like starting a new business every two years. Challenging, rewarding, and lots of fun!

I Love Tutoring Because

I love the challenge and reward (sense of accomplishment) in helping someone navigate the thought process needed and arriving at understanding with confidence. I've been there myself endless times in all my years of study. There is nothing like the feeling of "really getting it", not just sort-of or kind-of, but full-on confidence. I have found that many, not all, but many of the really complex financial models, concepts, formulas are a bunch of relatively easy to understand concepts all combined in one. Often times, if we break it apart, and make sure we understand each part, we'll see the complex come into focus and have a much better understanding.

I really appreciated David's help. He asked me questions to get me prompted in the right direction. I would suggest that when the tutor is available, that a notification of some type lets you know they are there. I had another tutor, but the session was ended because I was trying to work on my problem and the screen was minimized.
