Career Experience
My name is David and I am an English teacher and tutor. I have over 10 years of experience working with students of all ages and skill levels. During my time as both an undergrad and a grad student, I worked part-time as a composition tutor both privately and for several universities. Additionally, I worked for 6 months as an ESL instructor in Guatemala teaching children and adults. My early teaching experience consisted of high school English instruction and junior high English and social studies instruction. Most of my recent teaching experience has been as an adjunct professor at a local university and several community colleges.
I Love Tutoring Because
it is rewarding to see students improve in their writing skills and achieve great success academically, in turn fulfilling their educational and career aspirations. Assisting students of all levels and diverse backgrounds, I have found that there are no challenges that students cannot overcome in the reading and composition process when the right approach is taken. I am a good listener as well as a quick and sharp reader; thus, I can help students improve at any stage of the writing process. My primary approach to tutoring is empowering students with reading and composition skills that will benefit them regardless of the subject or assignment.
