Career Experience
I have been a teacher in English for 27 years. I have taught 6th - 12th grade, and I am currently teaching AICE General Paper. I was the department chair for 10 years and have presented school-based professional development in writing, reading, and online teaching. Even with opportunities to work with teachers, I have chosen to stay in the classroom, as I love working with my students. I am currently certified in the state of Florida in English and speech. I also hold a reading and ESOL endorsement.
I Love Tutoring Because
it allows for a one-on-one help session. Many times in large classes of 35, teachers are just not able to work with struggling students as much as they would like. Tutoring gives me the opportunity to work with struggling students. Having had experience as a parent whose child struggled with a learning disability, I have seen first hand the strides that can be made by turoring which meets the student's learning needs.
