Career Experience
I am a member of both Phi Beta Kappa as well as Phi Alpha Theta. I presented historical research at numerous conferences. My M.A. thesis has been downloaded more than two-thousand times, by over two-hundred institutions, in ninety-eight countries. I teach global history at the university level, with four years of experience. I believe in he Heideggerian concept of "thrownness." All humans, past and present, are born into an existence, into a time period, a world, a nation, a society, a family, not of their choosing. Humans are raised, acculturated to the norms of the culture in which they are "thrown." It is the task of the educator to assist students in overcoming the biases and shortcomings of "thrownness," to help them develop a cosmopolitan worldview, and to scaffold them so they reach their maximum potential.
I Love Tutoring Because
I enjoy helping young people improve their critical thinking skills. Passing along earned knowledge is intellectually satisfying. Assisting others fulfills my sense of duty.
