Career Experience
I am currently a student teacher studying English and enjoy working with kids immensely. I have been in the education field since I was sixteen and have been tutoring kids for the past five years. I have volunteered my time in a kindergarten through fourth-grade classroom helping with STEM assignments. I have also taught in a rural community serving fifteen kids in the whole high school from grades seven through twelve. I have taught ninth-grade English and am currently in that same classroom as well for my student teaching. I have also worked with sophomore and senior English courses. I enjoy watching students grow and learn through our time in the classroom and also love creatively thinking about how to break down information so each student can understand.
I Love Tutoring Because
I enjoy the ability to help students begin to comprehend a topic and watch the lightbulbs click when they finally understand. I enjoy the ability to walk them through complicated literature as well as to help edit papers with students. My favorite part of the job is getting to know each student and finding different ways to help them understand the task at hand. Differentiation is an important part of the job; each student is unique, which is why learning should be tailored to them.
