Career Experience

I taught English at middle and high school level for a total of three years, but I am certified to teach math, social studies, and science at the middle school level as well. Prior to being a teacher in the public schools, I worked as a paraprofessional, working one on one with special need students in a classroom setting. Before entering the public schools, I worked for a year as an ESL (English as a Second Language) instructor for adult students from all over the world. Additionally, I have tutored independently since I was in high school, generally in writing, but occasionally in history or math as well.

I Love Tutoring Because

I love helping people connect to new knowledge and skills. I particularly love helping people learn to read, write, and speak because it gives them a window to the world and an invaluable means of expression. There is nothing more fulfilling than helping kindle a spark in a student and watching it grow into a flame.
