Career Experience

I spent 14 years as the development director of a national non-profit organization. In addition to identifying and securing funding sources and hiring staff, I wrote press releases, designed promotional materials, wrote grant applications, and served as the media liaison. Writing concisely and coherently to present information was a vital part of this position. While working full-time, I completed my college degree online. My life has now changed course. My husband and I started a small business where I function as the marketing director, the bookkeeper, the sales manager, the secretary, and the graphic designer, so clear and concise writing is still a major part of my life.

I Love Tutoring Because

working as a tutor allows me the flexibility I need in my personal life. It is extremely rewarding to know that I am helping others achieve their educational goals. Because I was a non-typical college student, I feel my experiences provide me with an insight into what many of the students are facing, and tutoring allows me to encourage them on toward success.
