Career Experience
I have worked with students during the entirety of my bachelor's, and continue to work with students and colleagues. I have served as a writing center employee to help students with their academic essays, edited essays as a TA for several history courses, and have served as the primary English editor for Japanese-to-English translations by non-native English speakers. From the business side of things, I served as a marketing consultant for two years. I did almost all the copywriting and English language editing while also publishing on the blog and crafting Youtube design briefs and scripts. I have presented at several conferences within the humanities, social sciences, and linguistics and plan to start a Ph.D.
I Love Tutoring Because
I love working with students and helping them to improve their skills. I want to see more students succeed from various backgrounds, and making that process easier takes stress off of students. Being able to help students with tutoring means inspiring students to move above and beyond both academically and personally. These skills are not only transferrable but help to build their own insights and opinions about the world at large. Likewise, as a tutor, working with students is a huge learning opportunity for me. Each student brings forth their own challenges, perspectives, and worldviews. With these, I can learn more about their own experiences and use them to better shape and develop my own understanding of the world and others.
