Students Say

Fordham University's New York City locations is a fertile stomping ground for MBA students at the Gabelli School of Business, which provides "a broad, practical Jesuit education" and "a strong and flexible program for students who work." The Full-Time MBA curriculum follows the traditional first year of fundamentals and second year of electives structure, and seven concentration options and five "designation" options allow students to specialize their studies. Additionally, students can explore the New York City via a capstone Business Consulting Project or Immersion Week (taking place every January), when they spend five days visiting twelve different local companies across a variety of industries, including JPMorgan Chase, the Fire Department, Disney, and Tiffany & Co.

The Gabelli School "has a collection of incredible professors from many different backgrounds," who touch on current happenings and integrate into the class material and "have gone above and beyond to help us with any questions or concerns." There are also many "highly experienced adjunct professors who bring a wealth of knowledge to courses" and the more specialized courses they teach are "absolutely fantastic." Though there are mixed reviews regarding the administration ("Lots of improvements to be made, but they are trying"), most students say that is "fantastic in communication with students and helping students graduate." "Fordham has many great resources, you have to do the work to find them and make them work for you" says a student.

Campus Life

Students Say

The Gabelli School of Business's location in the heart of Manhattan "is a great advantage in terms of attending out of campus social activities" ("You can get anywhere in the city within twenty minutes"), though there is a noticeable difference in student lifestyles between part-time and full-time students and "there is an opportunity for improvement in gaining traction with attendance at student events," which tend to have low participation from part-timers. Students have access to all the building on campus and there are plenty of study lounges to spread out. Many whom come here "are in finance," and there is "a mix of hard working students and students who get into group projects and disappear." Students have access to all the building on campus and "there are plenty of study lounges to spread out." These "career-minded individuals" are "competitive, yet always willing to help others," and there are "so many opportunities for students here" that "if you want to be involved, the world is your oyster."
