Faculty Information

Students Say

Features of the University of Florida's Online MBA program include the option to complete the degree in one or two years, limited class sizes, and the opportunity to earn a concurrent master's degree in outreach engineering management in 20 months, all within a school with "a reputation for quality." Students express admiration for their professors and administrators: "The administration made the entire experience very straightforward and allowed the focus to be solely on the learning material. The professors all fully embraced and leveraged the online platform to enhance the learning experience." Students also rave that their professors are "experts in the fields but also highly effective teachers" who "go out of their way to check in with us regularly via email." The administration helms "a well-run program" with "superb delivery and organization." Students report that "the use of technology is outstanding," and they have "very convenient access to lectures and materials." UF's learning platforms include Canvas, Office365 collaborative tools, and Capsim, a simulation program for the "hands-on, team-based application of business decisions in marketing, research and development, finance and production," according to the school. Students find one another to be "very intelligent and motivated" "independent thinkers" who "add value to my education." Students at UF are "a diverse group" with "many years of experience in different industries" and "many skills that help to enhance" class discussions and group work. At the beginning of the program, students travel to UF's Gainesville campus to attend "a significant onsite introductory component which includes team building exercises." Following that, students "are on campus one weekend a semester," and can opt to attend an international immersion program. The UF program "is extremely rigorous," and students say "there are certainly weeks at a time when team projects are due" when they find themselves with "very little free time," but "if you learn how to manage your time extremely well, you will maintain a work-life balance."

Career Services Overview

Students Say

UF maintains "a strong alumni network" throughout the country, and students say they become close with their cohort as well. "I feel like I can genuinely say I'm friends with almost all of my classmates [. . .] We remember who works and lives in across the country, who just got a promotion, who's getting married, and who has children or expecting children. It's a very friendly, open environment." UF MBAs appreciate the brand name that comes with their degree, and on average they come to the degree with five years of work experience. The program's career preparation in finance, leadership/management, marketing, operations, teamwork, quantitative skills stand out as exceptional, and students feel confidence in the positive impact a UF MBA will have on their career: "I am able to immediately use what I am learning in the classroom at work. My boss has mentioned several times that my writing has improved significantly and he appreciates the new view I bring in to work thanks to the MBA program."
