Students Say

For students who choose the National University of Singapore's (NUS) MBA for its strategic location, they make the choice to be in the heart of Asia, in cosmopolitan Signapore: One student says simply of NUS, "It is the best school in Asia about Asia." Indeed, NUS' "good reputation as a premier Asian school" is sharply enlivened by its location "in a center of finance." Students value NUS' ability to "combine academic studies with practical experience" in their MBA education, as well as the fact that some of their professors are "practitioners from the professional world." "The finance, accounting, and economics professors" get especially high ratings from students.

"The size of each class is also small—about fifty students in one class," which encourages "every student to participate in class." Students also appreciate the intellectual variety of participating in "classroom studying, study groups, study trips, networking sessions and social activities," experiential learning, and say that, through a synthesis of all these experiences, their "understanding of global business, sustainability, team work and life skills has [been] enhanced." NUS' "School administration is very supportive and takes feedback," and indeed, students participate in "platforms such as town hall events and other formal and informal meetings" to help administrators "understand and improve areas where students are facing difficulty." As a whole, one students sums up the NUS MBA as "a great learning experience, especially for developing insights into Asian business environments."

Students Say

NUS' "location in Singapore, the heart of Asia, has provided the school great connec- tions to a lot of international companies," and those connections benefit its students' upward mobility immensely. "The NUS MBA is top-ranked in Asia," and the school facilitates "lots of programs and networking events to help expand network and job search opportunities" for students. Students report that NUS boasts a "large group of adjunct professors who . . . bring us hands-on industry experience and exposure," so that their MBA education keeps one eye on the future. "Singapore is a hub for the energy industry," as well as the finance industry, in particular, but for students with different career aspirations, "the school has an excellent infrastructure and resource center." NUS "attracts diversity," and its students find "can learn a lot from people coming from different parts of the world."

Campus Life

Students Say

NUS students love both Singapore and their campus. "Singapore is one of the most friendly countries in the world," and it "guarantees a high standard of living. The city and university is so safe that you can walk on your own even at midnight." It's a "beau- tiful city to live in," as well as a "perfect studying and living environment on campus." "We live on a beautiful campus. The rent is lower than living off campus and married students are welcome with their spouses. We have a pool, gym, food courts and study rooms." Most NUS students "are living on-campus" during their education, which means "students are pretty close to each other," and also encourages a greater sense of cohesiveness and teamwork. "We have an amazing cohort with people from twenty-six nationalities," many of whom have "some connection with Asia," and students find each other "energetic, friendly and competitive," as well as "very diverse both culturally" and in terms of "work experience." "There are a lot of activities to keep one busy," and students take advantage of them. In terms of work-life balance, "the workload is tough but manageable," partially because "NUS definitely has a 'high challenge-high support' environment."
