Students at Texas A&M University—Corpus Christi (TAMUCC) say that in order to truly appreciate their school's stellar MBA programs, you must first put them in proper geographical perspective. TAMUCC "is a regional school, so comparing it with the experience of [students] at Top-25 schools is not fair," one such student points. However, "given its status as a regional school and the mission of the university as it relates to the regional approach, the TAMUCC MBA program is excellent." Indeed, most here want a program that is first and foremost convenient, affordable, and flexible enough to accommodate students with full-time jobs. In these areas and more, students here tell us, TAMUCC delivers.

Case in point: TAMUCC "has a great core foundation and the potential to become a great public university." MBAs here benefit from the "wide variety of students [from] different countries" which broadens their educational experience. There is a particularly strong Hispanic student presence and a concurrent focus on business matters of interest to the American-Hispanic community. And then, of course, there's the "affordable tuition," the "small size of most classes"—the program is "not…too congested while still being large enough to have good facilities"—and the "easy-to-deal-with university administration," which works hard to ease the burdens of the school's overtaxed students. One student took special note of the program's "flexibility for working parents. I'm a single parent and have felt supported and encouraged by all of my professors and my advisor."

Similarly, professors "take the students' welfare into consideration" and "will always create extra time outside the class to answer questions to help make the learning process easy." Most instructors here "are very passionate about their work and it shows in their lecturing. They have relevant experience in their disciplines that they can relate to students showing real-life applications of the material." As one student explains, "I believe that the professors are the greatest strengths [of the program]. The passion and experience that they bring to the classroom is great. There are a couple who are not so great, but the majority are fantastic. Their enthusiasm makes you want to learn, and the material is challenging." TAMUCC offers its MBAs two areas of concentration: international business, and health care management.
