Students Say

HEC Montréal is an internationally recognized business school that offers two program options: a renowned one-year full-time program in English or French, or a two-year part-time evening program in French only (though students may take some electives in English in order to improve their language capacity). Many permanent residents take advantage of the intense, cost-effective full-time program to get the "best bang for the buck" and then re-enter the work force with a HEC Montréal degree under their belts and a network of alumni to tap into. This being an "extremely strenuous" one-year intensive program, "life is hectic." The school makes "excellent use of available slots to schedule seminars, meetings and workshops." The administration is "very available, well-run and supportive of student life." They are very clearly "there to make things easier for us," according to a student. Professors are similarly outstanding; faculty members are "almost 100 percent PhDs, with solid work experience" to boot, and are "very accessible and have a lot of business experience."

Campus Life

Students Say

This is a highly international group that "comes from all the continents." "I believe we do speak…more that fifteen to twenty different languages," says a student. People are "friendly" and "their experiences are very relevant," so "contribution is very important" and people always "work together and help each other." The life stages of each "very culturally diverse" class runs the gamut—some are married and well-entrenched in careers, some are single and just starting out—but there is "a great social life" and a "collegial atmosphere amongst fellow students and the facilities." The cafeteria, library, and classrooms are "very high quality," which "makes day-to-day life as comfortable as possible," and Montréal is "a great place to live" and spend time in the few free hours a student can squeak out.
