Andrew C.
Accepted into Southern Methodist University with The Princeton Review
Q. What was your goal when you started working with The Princeton Review?
We were looking for general direction with the college application process. We needed help with finalizing a list of schools that matched our son's interests as well as his qualifications. We also wanted expert input in preparing his applications.
Q. Did The Princeton Review help you achieve your goal? How?
Absolutely! We had a great connection with our son's counselor. She was extremely knowledgeable about the schools he was interested in as well as the nuances of how to approach the common app and supplemental applications. They optimized his credentials, activities, service, etc. so he presented a solid application and representation of himself to his list of prospective schools.
Q. What stood out most about your Princeton Review experience?
What was unexpected was the level of true personal attention he received. In a short time, they got to know our son and his goals. They were honest in approach, pointing out weaknesses and strengths, gave advice on how to improve in certain areas and how to highlight strengths. That objectivity was critical. We may have approached the process differently otherwise and missed opportunities to present the best application possible.
Q. Are there any additional comments you'd like to share with us?
It was a lot of hard work! Our son's Counselor encouraged that effort, and the results speak for themselves: applied to 12 schools, received admission to all of his safe and target schools as well as a reach school, was wait listed at one reach, and denied at two reach schools. He also received multiple scholarship offers, including one at his school choice. We truly believe these results were achieved with the assistance of Princeton Review, and we would recommend this service to anyone new to the current college admission process.
