1: LIU Post is a member of AASHE, Association for the Advancement of Sustainability in Higher Education. Each summer the campus hosts the Summer Sustainability Institute for high school and college students.
2: Recycling is campus wide for separation of paper, plastic and aluminum; collection drives are held as students vacate before summer for items that would have been discarded such as books, appliances, TVs and refrigerators; educational outreach programs help students understand the impact of their actions on the environment and the benefits of taking action. The campus also participates in sustainability food programs.
