Research Centers: The mission of the Perlmutter Institute for Global Business Leadership is to prepare students for leadership positions in the global corporation of the future or in the not-for-profit sector. The Institute supports multi-disciplinary scholarly research, teaching and practice focused on the impact of globalization on multi-national organizations. It will collaborate with international partners in developing exceptional educational experiences. The Institute exposes students to real-life issues through interaction with seasoned global business and policy leaders to sharpen their analytical decision-making skills. The program will enable students to gain a deeper understanding of the interaction of legal, economic and political forces, and market conditions on organizational behavior and policy. The Asper Center serves as Brandeis' platform to probe and understand the key trends affecting entrepreneurship across cultures and borders. It will provide an array of learning experiences through courses, seminars and conferences, internships, business plan competitions, field visits and meetings with global entrepreneurs. The Center was established by Leonard J. Asper '86, President of CanWest Global Communications, Canada's largest media conglomerate. His generosity led to the creation of the Asper Forum and Entrepreneurship Award in 2004. Rosenberg Institute of Global Finance The Rosenberg Institute, established in 2002, is IBS's principal research platform in the field of international finance. The Institute seeks to analyze and anticipate major trends in global financial markets, institutions and regulations, and to develop the information and ideas required to solve emerging problems. To this end, the Institute promotes informal exchanges among scholars and practitioners, research, and policy analyses, and also participates in the School's teaching programs. Asia Pacific Center The Asia-Pacific Center for Economics and Business (APC), located within IBS, conducts research, teaching and outreach on business and economic issues in the Asia Pacific region and on US-Asia Pacific relations. Its activities include faculty research projects, conferences, seminars, graduate and undergraduate courses, and exchange programs with Asia-Pacific universities. Faculty members associated with the Center include Professors Anne Carter, Ben Gomes-Casseres, Blake LeBaron, Gary Jefferson, Rachel McCulloch, and Dean Peter Petri, who is the acting Chair of the Center.
