Career Experience
I was the former software team leader for a FIRST Robotics team for two years (2018-2020), and the second-in-command for the two prior (2016-2018). In addition, I have over 10 years of experience programming in Java, a little over 5 years in Python, approximately 3 years in both C and C++, and just over 1 year of weekly Rust use as my latest language. I love learning new languages and trying to hone my skills more with each one.
I Love Tutoring Because
I love the feeling of helping others. I love seeing that "a-ha!" moment when something you're stuck on finally clicks. During my time as a software team leader, I was basically responsible for training new programmers who had never written a line of code in their lives. Seeing them learn new things, and seeing their sense of excitement as they figured out how to work through new problems reminded me of my own first steps into the world of programming; it made me realize my passion for helping guide others who are just getting into this field.
