Career Experience

I am a full-time high school math teacher with over 20 years of experience working with students at both the middle and high school levels. In addition to my classroom teaching, I tutor students in the evenings and have extensive experience supporting a wide range of learners. I currently teach Algebra I and Statistics, and I have taught and tutored a full range of math courses for grades 7–12, including pre-algebra, geometry, algebra II, and college-level algebra. I am also an experienced instructional leader who has contributed to professional development focused on improving math teaching practices and student outcomes. I believe that all students can learn and that each student learns in their own unique way and at their own pace. My approach focuses on breaking down concepts into manageable steps and presenting multiple strategies so students can find the method that works best for them. I strive to create a supportive and encouraging environment where students feel comfortable asking questions, making mistakes, and growing their confidence. Math can sometimes feel overwhelming, but my goal is to help students build both understanding and self-confidence so they can succeed not just in math, but in their overall learning.

I Love Tutoring Because

it allows me to work closely with students and tailor my approach to their individual learning styles and needs. I enjoy helping students build confidence in math by breaking down challenging concepts, exploring multiple strategies, and creating a supportive environment where they feel comfortable asking questions and making mistakes. Watching students grow from feeling frustrated to becoming more confident and independent learners is incredibly rewarding, and it reinforces my belief that all students can succeed with the right guidance and encouragement.
