Career Experience
I have over 20 years of experience in education, teaching History and English at the middle and high school levels. I began as a student teacher for 8th grade History and English, and went on to teach History at the high school level, where I developed my own lesson plans, assessments, and classroom materials. I've also spent many years as a private tutor, working one-on-one with middle and high school students to build their understanding of History and strengthen their writing. I have been tutoring with Tutor.com for nearly 3 years now. Beyond teaching, I hold a Google Data Analytics certification and have independently built and deployed web applications as a freelance project, which has strengthened my attention to detail, problem-solving skills, and ability to break down complex material into clear, understandable steps.
I Love Tutoring Because
....teaching imparts knowledge to the younger generation and helps shape the leaders of tomorrow. It is not a mundane job — it carries the responsibility of nurturing a young person's growth, confidence, and curiosity. I still remember how it felt as a student to finally understand something I had been struggling with, and I try to give my own students that same moment. Whether it's helping a student see how a history lesson connects to the world around them, or working through an essay sentence by sentence until it clicks, I find real joy in watching a student go from "I don't get this" to "I've got it."
