Programs and Curriculum:
RIT has the fourth-oldest and one of the largest cooperative education programs in the world, annually placing more than 4,500 students in more than 6,200 co-op assignments with more than 2,200 employing organizations. Cooperative education (co-op) is the most extensive and intensive of RIT's experiential learning opportunities. Co-op is available to students in most master's programs on an optional basis. Last year those students generated more than $45 million in earnings through their employment with industry, business, government, and the not-for-profit sector throughout the U.S. and in 40 foreign countries. Additional experiential learning opportunities are available through internships, team-based projects, study abroad, research, part-time work on and off campus and volunteerism.
All courses are taught in the English language. A large, well-staffed English Language Center offers a comprehensive, intensive academic program that provides English language instruction in a cross-cultural learning environment to prepare international students for success in graduate and undergraduate study at RIT and other universities in the United States.
Facilities:
RIT offers unmatched resources for student support including academic support services such as academic advising and individual tutoring. Other resources include a student health center staffed with licensed doctors and nurses, a mental health counseling center, a disability services office, addiction support services, study abroad department, career services, English language center, and an international student services office. All classrooms are state-of-the-art, most with modern audio-visual equipment and smart-board technology. Internet network connections are among the fastest available and include wireless and Ethernet options. There are more than 50 research centers and laboratories on campus, each containing the most up-to-date laboratory equipment and supplies.
Academics:
Enthusiasm and commitment to teaching are undeniable characteristics of RIT's faculty. Our faculty have extensive experience in the classroom and their professional fields. Most have terminal degrees in their fields. Their real-life experiences and their involvement in applied research and consulting means that their teaching is well informed and up to date. They'll talk with you about career choices and graduate school. Our professors think about your future almost as much as you do, and they are committed to your success.
Our overall class size is relatively small — an average of 23 students, and our overall student/faculty ratio is 13:1. Your graduate study class sizes will reflect those numbers.
Students:
Students from all 50 US states and more than 100 countries attend RIT. More than 3,700 students from diverse racial and ethnic backgrounds are enrolled on the main campus along with more than 2,400 international students. An additional 2,400 students are enrolled at RIT's international locations. Adding a social and educational dynamic not found at any other university are more than 1,100 deaf and hard-of-hearing students supported by RIT's National Technical Institute for the Deaf.

Tuition, Room, Board and Fees:
International students pay the same tuition and fees as do students from the United States. Graduate tuition and fees are calculated based on a credit-hour basis as many programs consider 9 credits (3 courses) full-time and others 12 credits (4 courses). For nine credits/semester, graduate tuition is currently set at $35,640 with no required fees. For 12 or more credits, tuition and fees are currently set at $47,522 and $646.
Financial Aid:
Most graduate programs award scholarships based on merit, and many also award assistantships. All international students are considered for merit-based scholarships and assistantships (if offered). Scholarship decisions are made on a first-come, first-served basis, so for rolling deadlines the earlier you apply the better your chances for a scholarship.
