Measuring score improvement
We compare the score you received on the official test after you completed your program with us for the same test to your baseline starting score on the same test, which can be either:
- Your most recent official test score that you received before the start of your test prep program with us for the same test; or
- The score you receive on your first practice test in your test prep program with us for the same test. This test must be taken before the first scheduled class (or on the date, if any, scheduled for an initial practice test), must be the specific test designated as the first practice test in your Online Student Dashboard, and must be taken in one sitting while observing official time limits for all sections and breaks. If you provide us with documentation showing that the organization administering the test has granted you extended testing time as an accommodation, then you may have such extended testing time for your practice tests. For clarity, scores from the same practice test taken a second time will not be accepted. In addition, only a test for which you have a score report in your Online Student Dashboard (such as by your completion of the test in your Online Student Dashboard, your entry of the answers for the test taken with pencil and paper into your Online Student Dashboard, or our collection of your answers for the test taken with pencil and paper and entering them into your Online Student Dashboard) will be counted as fulfilling this requirement.
If your score does not improve
If your score on the official test after you completed your program is not higher than your starting score and other requirements of the guarantee are met, we will refund your tuition for the program, less the fee for any materials (as reflected in your invoice) that we may have shipped to you and any shipping charges.
Work you must do
Before your official test date, you must:
- Attend all scheduled classes.
- Take all required practice tests as scheduled. Only practice tests taken in one sitting while observing official time limits for all sections and breaks will be counted as fulfilling this requirement. If you provide us with documentation showing that the organization administering the test has granted you extended testing time as an accommodation, then you may have such extended testing time for your practice tests. In addition, only tests for which you have a score report in your Online Student Dashboard (such as by your completion of tests in your Online Student Dashboard, your entry of the answers for tests taken with pencil and paper into your Online Student Dashboard, or our collection of your answers for tests taken with pencil and paper and entering them into your Online Student Dashboard) will be counted as fulfilling this requirement.
- Complete and enter all required homework in your Online Student Dashboard according to the schedule in your syllabus.
Time frame for taking the official test
You must take the official test for which your program is designed to prepare you on or before the recommended test date for your course that we posted on our website at the time of your enrollment. If you registered for an official test that was to be administered within the required time frame but it was canceled by the test administrator, you must take the next official test that is available (unless the next official test available to you is more than 90 days after the end of your course, in which case you will need to contact us for assistance).
Time frame for submitting a guarantee request form
You must submit an electronic copy of your official score report along with your guarantee request form within 60 days after your official test date. The guarantee request form is available here.

You must take your official AP test in one of the official AP test administrations within 30 days of your last tutoring session with us. If you registered for an official test that was to be administered within the required time frame but it was canceled by the test administrator, you must take the next official test that is available (unless the next official test available to you is more than 90 days after your last tutoring session, in which case you will need to contact us for assistance).
Time frame for submitting a guarantee request form
You must submit an electronic copy of your official score report along with your guarantee request form within 60 days of the release of scores for your official test date. The guarantee request form is available here.
Other details
For clarity, preparation for the AP test in multiple subjects requires enrollment in a separate program for each subject, and each AP 4 Tutoring program for a different subject is eligible for its own guarantee. You can only use the better scores money back guarantee on the first program you take with us for a subject, even if the later program is a paid purchase or you did not invoke any guarantee for the first program. Please also see the General Guarantee Terms below.
AP 4 COURSE
If your score is below a 4
If the score you received on the official AP test for a subject after you completed your program with us for the same subject is less than 4 and other requirements of the guarantee are met, then we will refund your tuition in accordance with the table below.
AP Score | Refund Amount |
3 or less | Refund equal to the tuition paid less the fee for course materials (as reflected in your invoice) that we shipped to you and shipping charges. |
Work you must do
Before your official test date, you must:
- Attend all scheduled class sessions.
- Complete all 3 required practice tests according to the schedule in your syllabus.
- Complete all required homework as assigned throughout the course.

General Guarantee Terms
To be eligible for the better scores money back guarantee offered by TPR Education, LLC d/b/a The Princeton Review or, if you are in Canada, TPR Education Canada, ULC (“TPR,” “we,” “us,” “our”), you must be enrolled in an eligible program (as listed here), for which you have paid in full. For clarity, you are not eligible for the better scores money back guarantee if your enrollment in an eligible program was paid for in whole or in part by an organization or government entity, including but not limited to schools, school districts, colleges, universities, student organizations, non-profit entities, and businesses.
You can use our guarantees only once per paid purchase. For example, if you choose to repeat the program under our satisfaction guarantee, you will no longer be eligible for the better scores money back guarantee. Additionally, as noted in the “Other details” sections above, you can only use the better scores money back guarantee on the first program you take with us for a specific test, even if a later program is a different type of program for the same test, the later program is a paid purchase, or you did not invoke any guarantee for the first program. For example, if you first take the SAT Self-Paced program without invoking any guarantee and then subsequently pay for and take a SAT 1400+ course, you will not be eligible for a refund under the better scores money back guarantee terms for your SAT 1400+ course (although you can invoke the satisfaction guarantee for the course).
Except where the terms above refer to a score in a section of an exam, the relevant “score” in the terms above for tests with scores by section or subject is the total or composite score over all sections of an exam but excluding any essay or writing test. For clarity, scores for individual sections from different exams may not be combined to establish the total or composite score (except as expressly laid out in the terms above).
We present the work you must to do to benefit fully from your program in several ways: through communication from staff, including teachers, tutors and administrative staff; through the structure of our online and printed materials into lessons and homework; and through additional supplemental documents variously described as syllabi, student guides, etc. An important component of completing this work is for you to do it over a period and in a sequence that we have designed to maximize the results you can expect. It is your responsibility to consult the available resources and to contact us for any additional support you may require in understanding what is expected. We strive to be reasonably flexible in accommodating individual circumstances. However, we reserve the right to view a student as not having completed the work required to be eligible for this guarantee should there be clear indication that actions were taken by the student to give the appearance of completion without regard for the timing or purpose of the work.
Periodically, the organizations that administer the tests referenced in these terms may choose to make changes in content, format, scoring scale, administration schedule, or other aspects of the tests that may affect the consideration of claims under this guarantee. In such situations, we make every effort to be flexible to serve students and to communicate relevant updates or exceptions to these terms, but we reserve the right to make any adjustments to our guarantees necessary in such circumstances.
An electronic copy of your official score report should be a sharable electronic document provided by the organization administering the official test, where possible. Where such a sharable document is not provided by the organization administering the official test, you may submit a reasonable substitute such as an electronic copy of a screen captured image of an online system used by the organization administering the official test to communicate your results to you.
