Ranked by U.S. News & World Report as one of the nationÂ’s Best Liberal Arts Colleges, Saint Michael's offers 30 majors in the traditional arts and sciences, and contemporary and pre-professional fields of study, all grounded in a strong liberal arts core. With nearly 100% of students living on campus, Saint Michael's "24/7" living and learning environment enables exceptional teaching to continue beyond the classroom and traditional class hours, and builds lifelong bonds among students, faculty and college staff. Saint Michael's is among the elite group of 270 colleges and universities nationwide with chapters of the prestigious academic honor society, Phi Beta Kappa, on campus. Global perspectives enrich the campus through the presence of our Applied Linguistics Department, one of the nation's oldest English language programs. Saint Michael's offers 21 intercollegiate Division II sports, most in the Northeast-10 Conference. A wide variety of club and intramural sports such as snowboarding, rugby, basketball, softball and even table tennis also are available. And, our acclaimed Wilderness Program bring students into the great Vermont outdoors for adventure sports and survival training, from beginner to advanced certification levels.
