From the School

For AY 2013, we are introducing the new NANYANG MBA curriculum based on the challenges posed by rapid market changes, Asia's increasing influence, and increasing public scrutiny on corporate governance and sustainability, while at the same time meet the changing requirements of employers for MBA hires.

This new curriculum is designed towards making you better prepared to lead in the face of today's myriad of challenges, as well as those of the future. With a stronger focus on Asia and more relevant industry applications, you will be able to make decisions that will make an impact and execute plans to achievement.

The new curriculum's main features include the following:
1) increased emphasis on leadership development
2) deeper focus on Asia
3) broader relevance and application to industry needs

Global Perspective & Experience
The global perspective of the NANYANG MBA comes not only from the use of international case studies, but also from the diverse views reflected by the high percentage of international participants and faculty in the program. Our faculty is chosen for their outstanding track record in industry, research and consulting. The pedagogy of the NANYANG MBA emphasizes not only the global nature of business, but also the application of models and frameworks in the Asian context. You may choose to further broaden your international exposure with an exchange term at one of our 50 partner institutions worldwide.

Asian Focus
The other pillar of the new NANYANG MBA curriculum is the stronger focus on Asia. With Asia's increasing influence, the program will use more case studies relevant to doing business in Asia- whether multinational or regional (Asia) or local companies and organizations.

Riding on our expertise of Asia, we offer a selection of pan-Asian electives which include courses like Sun Zi Art of War and Business Applications, The Dynamics of Investment in Greater China, Managing in Asia: Issues and Ethics, State and Politics in Modern Indonesia, etc. The first case center focusing on Asia, Asian Business Case Centre was set up in Nanyang in collaboration with the Richard Ivey School of Business, University of Western Ontario, in recognition of the need for quality business research in the Asia-Pacific region. The centre is a leading producer of Asian case studies which are widely used in our MBA courses. You have access to Asian business intelligence via an extensive collection of over 1,100 Asian cases, written by the faculty of Nanyang Business School and top universities worldwide. Accreditations
Nanyang Business School is the first Singapore MBA business school (and 4th in Asia) with accreditation by both AACSB (The Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business) from US and EQUIS (The European Quality Improvement System) from the European Union.

These accreditation bodies attest to the quality of higher education programs offered by the business school, thus your MBA degree from Nanyang is acknowledged worldwide.

AACSB - The Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business is an association of educational institutions, businesses, and other organizations devoted to the advancement of higher education in management education.

It is also the premier accrediting agency of collegiate business schools and accounting programs worldwide. AACSB assures quality management education by providing the world's most prestigious business school accreditation.

Less than 5% of the world's business schools have achieved this elite distinction.

EQUIS is the leading international business school accreditation system known for its strict standards in granting their accreditation. Institutions must first demonstrate not only high general quality in all dimensions of their activities including research and community outreach, but also a high degree of internationalization.

EQUIS also looks for a balance between high academic quality and the professional relevance provided by close interaction with the corporate world. A strong interface with the world of business is, therefore, as much a requirement as a strong research potential.

EQUIS attaches particular importance to the creation of an effective learning environment that favours the development of students' managerial and entrepreneurial skills, and fosters their sense of global responsibility. It also looks for innovation in all respects, including programme design and pedagogy. EQUIS is supported by a broad international body of academics and professionals.
