Indianapolis International Airport is 50 miles from campus. For transportation between the airport and campus, call either the Bloomington Shuttle Service (1-800-589-6004) or limousine services (1-800-888-4639, 1-812-339-7269, 1-800-589-6004.) Greyhound Bus Lines also stop in Bloomington.
|Driving Instructions to Campus:|
From the north, take Indiana Rte. 37 S. to the first Bloomington exit (College Ave.), then drive approximately 3.5 miles to the second stoplight. Turn left on State Rte. 45/46 and drive a mile to the second stoplight (Indiana State Police Post on the corner) and turn right. Proceed to the next traffic light (approximately half a mile) and turn left onto 17th St. As you reach the crest of the hill, turn right onto Jordan Ave. Proceed on Jordan through 2 traffic lights; then, proceed through the next stop sign. The admissions office is immediately on the left. From the west and southwest, take Indiana Rte. 45 or 48; then turn left onto Indiana Rte. 37 bypass. Continue north, then turn right onto the Rte. 46 bypass. At the 4th light (Indiana State Police Post on the right), turn right and follow the preceding directions from the Indiana State Police Post. From the east, follow Indiana Rte. 46, which becomes E. 3rd St. in Bloomington. Follow 3rd St. to Jordan Ave. and turn right on Jordan. The admissions office is on the right, just past the circular intersection.

The only place within walking distance is the on-campus Indiana Memorial Union (900 E. Seventh St.; 812-855-2536.) The Union, with approximately 186 guest rooms, is a university-owned facility. Rates are moderate, but bookings are tight. If you are visiting on a football weekend or holiday, be sure to reserve a place early.

There are several chain hotel/motels in the area and a number of bed and breakfast facilities. The Monroe County Convention and Visitors Bureau can provide up to date information on hotel availability and special event activities (1-800-800-0037.) Also Bloomington is located within 20-45 minutes of three state parks (Brown County in Nashville, (812-988-6406), McCormick's Creek in Spencer, (812-829-4881) and Spring Mill in Mitchell (812-849-4129), all with lodge facilities.
