I am an experienced, student-centered accounting educator with more than 15 years of combined higher-education teaching and professional accounting experience across private industry, real estate, and healthcare. I have a strong record of developing and delivering undergraduate and graduate accounting curriculum, with expertise in financial reporting, managerial accounting, and financial analysis. My academic work includes teaching a broad range of accounting and business courses, leading curriculum development, mentoring faculty, and supporting student engagement through advising and professional organizations. My industry background includes senior-level roles in accounting and financial reporting, full-charge accounting and operational management within healthcare, and extensive experience collaborating with CPA firms on audits, financial reviews, and regulatory compliance. I maintain active professional development in effective college instruction, instructional design, Artificial Intelligence (AI), and business leadership, consistently integrating real-world applications into my teaching to enhance student learning and workforce readiness.
I Love Tutoring Because
it allows me to support students one-on-one, meet them where they are, and help them build confidence as they master new concepts. It allows me to make a direct and meaningful impact on their learning by turning moments of confusion into clarity and growth. Tutoring also allows me to tailor my approach, connect real-world examples to academic concepts, and break down complex topics in ways that truly resonate. Watching a student’s mindset shift from “I can’t” to “I understand” is incredibly rewarding and continues to inspire my passion for teaching.
