Career Experience
I offer over seven years of diverse experience in education as a trilingual, multidisciplinary educator. I specialize in supporting students in their reading, writing, language, and executive functioning skills. A former middle school humanities teacher, I have also taught, tutored, and homeschooled individuals from early childhood through adulthood. My experience spans an array of subjects, including English, Spanish, history, SAT/ACT reading and writing, and college application essays. I also provide tailored instruction and support for students with wide-ranging needs, including those with dyslexia, autism, and ADHD. Furthermore, I bring a culturally sensitive perspective to my work, shaped by work with ELL students and extensive international travel, that enriches my ability to support families from diverse backgrounds. Above all, I work to identify and play to students' strengths and interests. Noted for my compassion, humor, and versatility, I have had consistent success in helping students come away with increased confidence, skills, and independence.
I Love Tutoring Because
I enjoy building relationships with students that help them feel seen and supported as individuals. I love to serve as a guide by modeling authentic, process-oriented learning. Furthermore, I enjoy connecting with a wide range of learners. Upon learning about a student's interests, I tailor my approach by drawing on my diverse background in languages, the arts, international and outdoor travel. Finally, I bring humor and compassion to the role of a tutor. I was raised in a family of teachers, but schoolwork never came easily to me. As a student, I was able to develop patience, resilience, and confidence thanks to the help of dedicated academic mentors. I am committed to empowering students in similar ways.
