Faculty Information

Students Say

Ball State University's Miller College of Business "has a good reputation, especially the online MBA program" where students share the same course selection, degree concentrations, and professors as their on-campus counterparts. Students may opt for a General MBA or may specialize in one of five business areas: entrepreneurship, finance, health, economics, policy, and administration, operations management, or sales management. Students are impressed with "the quality and experience of the professors." "Everyone at Ball State is very accessible and encourages dialogue. They keep the online students feeling included." In fact, all on-campus activities, including student association meetings and guest lectures, are broadcast via live video stream to include online students. Courses are offered in asynchronous and synchronous formats, and, as one student describes, are "as close to being in the classroom as humanly possible." Another student raves, "Classes are held in real time and recorded. I appreciate the recorded classes as I like to pause the class lectures to take notes and reference the book material as the professor reviews the lesson." Administrators at Ball State University are "accessible and extremely helpful." "When I needed help, the technical support people have been very responsive and timely, which allowed me to do my work uninterrupted." While the program definitely challenges students "to prioritize," many classes are "scheduled in the evenings" and on the whole "are conducive to work-life balance": "The good thing about the program is the flexibility. If I missed a class, I could watch the recording and catch up." Students enjoy their "ambitious" and "creative" classmates, who "fall anywhere on the spectrum from those who are coming straight out of undergrad to individuals who are VP/executive-level employees at Fortune 500 corporations." Overall, students praise the "ample communication between students, professors, and administrators." One current student explains, "The quality of the program is outstanding, and I feel it is a tremendous value."
