Admissions
Overall
From The School
Admission to Stockton is competitive, but we encourage students from all backgrounds to apply. Every application received is evaluated based on both demonstrated proficiency and potential for success on the college level.
Stockton operates on rolling admission. This means students may apply for admission to the fall or spring term and receive an admission decision when their application files are completed. For most freshman majors, the deadline for fall admission is May 1. Check our website for special program deadlines. Transfer student deadlines for fall and spring admission is flexible. Application fee: $50. Enrollment deposit: $250. Housing deposit: $150.
Freshman Application Requirements: Application, essay, official high school transcript, SAT and/or ACT scores if required by major, TOEFL for international students. Suggested: letters of recommendation.
Test Optional: For freshman admissions. Students can choose to provide SAT or ACT scores when applying for admission. Once accepted, they can submit standardized test scores or take Accuplacer subject-specific exams to determine placement for freshman math and writing courses. Stockton recognizes that standardized test scores are not always the best predictor of academic ability. The test optional admission policy will provide greater access to students who are successful in the classroom.
Transfer Student Application
Requirements: official transcripts from ALL colleges attended. Transfer students with fewer than 15 earned college credits at the date of application must provide official high school transcripts or high school equivalency certificate (GED), if fewer than 15 earned college credits and applying to non-test optional majors, SAT or ACT scores are also required. Transfers with 15-24 earned college credits who have not attained an associate degree at the date of application must provide proof of high school graduation by a copy of high school diploma, transcripts with graduation date, or GED results.
Students graduating from a New Jersey county/community college with an AA/AS degree in a Stockton-approved transfer program may be granted up to a maximum of 64 credits upon notification of acceptance. An associate in applied science (AAS) degree is evaluated on a course-by-course basis.
Stockton's Transfer Pathways program is an exciting dual admission option with participating New Jersey community colleges. Students entering this program receive conditional acceptance to Stockton while they work on their associate degree at one of our partner community colleges.

Students Say
The classroom’s not the only place to get a Stockton education. Undergrads note that the school’s programs “offer lots of hands-on, real-world experience” through “research, internships, and on-campus jobs.” Two such examples are the “good partnerships with the FAA and Atlanticare Hospital that create a lot of internships.”
