What’s your first impression of senior year?

There is so much going on all at once. I really have to budget my time well since I’m juggling my course work, extracurricular activities, and college applications.

What’s your favorite class so far? Why?

My favorite class so far has to be AP Biology. I find the topics covered so interesting; however, it also provides me with a rigorous course load and challenging material, which helps keep me engaged.

What are you looking forward to this year?

This year, aside from getting into college, I am looking forward to Peer Tutoring and for the first time ever, being a Peer Leader. Peer Leadership is a highly selective group of Juniors and Seniors at my high school that mentor 8th and 9th graders as they assimilate into the high school. I am so excited about this as I am planning my agendas currently for what I will be working on with my peer group weekly!

How are college applications going?

College applications are going very well. I'm trying to take it day-by-day and keep a list of everything I need to get done by my early action deadline. It is definitely a lot, but I know it will all be worth it soon!

What’s your favorite summer memory?

My favorite summer memory was an early birthday gift I received- a baby puppy, only 2 months old. Her name is Maggie and she's adorable! She's a lot of work but I absolutely love having her around! :)

What's your first impression of sophomore year?

It's really great to finally be situated and understand High School more.

What’s your favorite class so far? Why?

I really like Honors Chemistry - it's fun and I like my teacher.

What are you looking forward to this year?

I'm psyched to get my license, and I'm acting in two of our school plays: Cabaret and The Laramie Project.

What's your favorite summer memory?

Herding and branding cattle at camp.

What's your first impression of college?

My first impression of college was beyond amazing. It was everything I had hoped it would be and more. My first week of classes I would be reading or doing homework on the grass in this big beautiful quad, and I had to keep reminding myself to pay attention to my work because I was so blown away by where I was.

What’s your favorite class so far? Why?

My favorite class so far has been the History of U.S. Foreign Policy because my professor used to be a Shakespearean actor and acts out these amazing monologues from history, including John Adams on the floor of the Senate. It’s so exciting that he's so passionate about what he teaches.

Any fun/new social activities that you are trying for the first time?

I tried sunrise yoga at our gym and am going to keep doing it before class every day.

What's one thing you wished you had brought from home?

I really wish I had brought more snacks. Cafeteria food gets a little gross after awhile.

What's been your favorite part about college so far?

My favorite part about college has been the odd mix of being independent but also not in the real world at all. You can be with your friends 24/7 and kind of do whatever you want without the scariness of a job or feeding yourself.

What's your favorite summer memory?

The most memorable thing about my summer was my family trip to Germany, Spain and India. I love travelling, and it was a fun way to spend some quality time with my family before I left for school.

What’s your first impression of senior year?

College apps, college apps, college apps. It’s a lot of work!

What’s your favorite class so far? Why?

Our favorite class so far is AP Literature. We have our former 10th grade literature teacher for AP Lit and his class structure and teaching style is awesome. Plus, we’re in the middle of analyzing Hamlet, which is really good..

What are you looking forward to this year?

We are most looking forward to being done with college applications and all our other work. We’re also looking forward to voting in the primaries!

How are college applications going?

Good? You never really can know until you get the responses back from the colleges. However, we’re supposed to have them submitted the first week of October, so our deadline is nearing!

What’s your favorite summer memory?

The most memorable thing we did this summer was professionally recording an EP with our band, Sandbox Fistfight.
